Ten years old Zeinabou also tries to help by selling mangos that she picks, on the streets. But despite all their efforts, they do not have food on the table every day. Today is a good day, as they have some grains that Awa prepares for porridge.
The poor family lives in a tent with dirt floor. The tent is made of wooden branches covered with blankets, straws and old sack materials.
Zeinabou says that she would like to go to school, but the family cannot afford to buy school books or a school uniform.
The parents` biggest wish for the future is to get enough food for the children, and a better place to live. As it is now, they never know when the land owner will tear down their tent and force them to leave.
