Iman is a mother of four and is also eights months old pregnant. Iman escaped Al Hsay village in the outskirts of Fallujah on Sunday 29 May due to intense fighting. The family used to be shephers/farmers with their own crop and land.
"We used to grow wheat, but ISIS took it all and only gave us back 2 sacs of grain for the whole season", Iman says.
When the war broke out, the family survived on hot water from the river, the grains and their one cow.
"We gathered up - around 230 families- and escaped by foot during the evening carrying elderly and children. ISIS threatened us and said that the ones who escape will be beheaded the day they decide to return home," Iman says.
The family started running after the evening prayers and up to the early morning hours.
