At only 5 years old, Hussein’s childhood has already been marked by poverty and uncertainty. He and his family live in a makeshift tent, made of sticks and blankets, in Al Hudaydah – the westernmost region of Yemen. They have no kitchen and no bathroom or hygiene facilities. Over 3 million people have been forced to flee their homes as a result of the conflict in Yemen, and over 100,000 people remain displaced in Hudaydah alone. But the tragedy does not end there – in October, the UN announced a cholera outbreak in Yemen and thousands of people are at risk. Hudaydah is one of the most at-risk areas in Yemen.
