Although she might look older than her years, Niyiduha is just 10 years old. Her Niyiduha’s father is called Kubuyimana and her mother is called Cecilia Nimubona. She has two brothers and three sisters. But two other brothers died out of illness back in Burundi. She hails from Giteranyi Village in Muyinga Province.
She remembers that back in Burundi, someone who claimed to occupy a senior position in the government threatened her father with death if he refused to attend political party meetings. Later, some people came at night and destroyed their house. They fled the village the next morning.
Niyiduha likes French and Swahili languages. She thinks that these two are very good subjects. Her best friend back in Burundi was called Nishimwe Niziya. At the camp her best friend is called Chimaye Bernard. She wants to become a teacher.
Favourite game? ‘Kadunda’ also known as ‘Mdenensi’ where two players bounce a rubber ball and earn points by demonstrating dribbling skills.
