Shah Mahmood, 28, returned from Pakistan three months ago and is now living in Nangarhar, Afghanistan. The father of three is paralyzed and can’t work. While in Pakistan, he had a pushcart and was selling some food items and cold drinks outside of a public school in Khyebr Pakhtunkhwa, earning around Rs1000 (approx. $15) a day.
Tough he is happy being back in his own country, he is now without a job. Shah Mahmood says that they had a comfortable life back in Pakistan and now, everything has changed for them. He is living in a rented open space with no facilities.
The Norwegian Refugee Council has provided the family with a tent to stay, with support from Sida.
