Hassan fled Oromia region to the Koloji camp for displaced persons in the Somali region, due to inter-communal fighting in Oromia 3 years ago. He lost two of his brothers due to the conflict.
“I came here with my family: two wives and 12 children. I’ve seen a lot of people that got killed. When conflict started they killed my two brothers, so I fled to this camp. Now, I am looking after my brothers’ family too,” he says.
About 3.2 million Ethiopians are currently displaced within the country. Most fled inter-communal fighting in recent years. Without enough basic services for survival, more aid is needed for displaced families in the country.
