Hopes and wishes of Central Africans for 2019
Nisla Balepako is a 26 yo mother of three, living in the commune of Bégoua, not far from Bangui, in Central African Republic (CAR)
In 2017, Nisla and her three children were living on the Dons Bosco displacement site in Bangui. However, when all the displacement sites in and around of Bangui were closed by the government, her family was forced to occupy a destroyed home, where they lived for over a year, Now, Nisla, her husband and children have managed to rent a house with two rooms, as her husband found a job in a welding shop.
“CAR, is not doing well. There doesn’t seem to be a way out for my country, there’s nothing. For 2019 I wish for the armed confrontations to stop and that there won’t be any more attacks on civilians. This war is hurting us and we need time and help to rebuild our lives in the years to come. And that’s what I want to do in 2019: rebuild my life; I want to turn the page and start anew”.
